Alphabento: G is for Green.

You can't get a greener lunch than this without food coloring, I imagine. Toddlebug's lunch for preschool Tuesday:

-- Guacamole and tortilla chips.
-- Graham cracker (half).
-- Grapes, cut up, with giraffe pick.
-- Green eggs (scrambled eggs with pureed spinach, though you can also use asparagus), which we often have for dinner.
-- Green beans.

It's my turn to provide snack, so I made cranberry granola bites (substituting chopped Craisins for the chocolate chips in this recipe). I decided that making those would be more fun than cutting up enough grapes for the whole class.

Other G foods you might use: greens, green (pea) soup, grits, gyoza (Japanese dumplings), gumbo, golumpki (pigs in a blanket), Gouda or Gruyere cheese.
Other G themes: garage (for car fans), giraffe, gorilla, goose.

My husband's lunch is in the Mr. Bento.

-- Salsa and tortilla chips.
-- Grapes.
-- Ham and cheese sandwich with Dijon on multigrain bread, with a few Craisins around it.
